Comprehensive Continuing Education Courses Tailored for Success

LazersonLearning will offer courses to fulfill the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and the California State DRE/DFPI requirements for continuing education for mortgage loan originators, mortgage brokers, and real estate professionals. We will also have additional courses for professional development, such as how to write the purchase, originate the mortgage, handle construction loans, find financing, and learn the nuances of accessory dwelling units.

NMLS CE Requirements

The SAFE Act requires licensed Mortgage Loan Originators to take a minimum of 8 hours of continuing education (CE) every year. The NMLS mortgage continuing education license renewal credit hours must be in the following categories:
• 3 hours of federal laws and regulations
• 2 hours of ethics topics covering fraud, fair lending, and consumer protection issues
• 2 hours of non-traditional mortgage training
• 1 hour of electives
These courses will be available in an 8-hour comprehensive course, including a 1-hour elective approved by DRE/DFPI.

California State Requirements

LazersonLearning will also provide courses to fulfil the California State requirements for continuing education for mortgage loan originators, mortgage brokers, and real estate professionals. Every California-licensed MLO is required to complete 8 hours of NMLS-approved education annually. Continuing education must include: California MLOs licensed by the DFPI must take 1 hour of California mortgage license law as their elective. California MLOs licensed by the DRE can take any 1-hour elective relating to mortgage topics.
